Counselling Young People From Age 13

in Stroud and Cirencester

In my work with Young people, I integrate psychodynamic thinking with a more proactive approach. Proactive strategies can help to develop the skills and insights necessary to navigate life's challenges effectively. This may include more creative ways of working to help you reflect on how you are feeling, but sessions are collaborative and client-led to ensure we focus on what you want to consider, in a way that works for you.

As a qualified children's and young people's counsellor, I specialise in supporting young people. My approach is rooted in empathy, understanding, and a commitment to fostering the emotional well-being of every young person I work with. I recognise that each young person has a unique story and set of needs, which is why my practice is highly individualised, ensuring

every client feels seen, heard, and valued. My goal is to support young people in overcoming challenges, building resilience, and achieving their full potential.

Whether you're dealing with anxiety, low mood, bullying, family difficulties, or the pressures of school, counselling offers a safe and supportive space to explore what’s going on for you. You may also be thinking about your sexuality or gender—something that can feel confusing, isolating, or overwhelming, especially when

other people's expectations or opinions surround you

. Whatever you're facing, this is a calm, non-judgemental space where you can speak freely and be heard.

I understand that finding the words for how you feel isn’t always easy. That’s why we’ll work together in a way that feels right for you—helping you make sense of your emotions, find ways to cope, and begin to build resilience.

Beyond addressing what’s right in front of us, I believe it’s crucial to equip you with knowledge about mental health and well-being. I'll help you understand the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues, think about the importance of self-care, and encourage you to reach out for help if you're struggling. By learning about these things, you’ll be better equipped to recognise and address any issues on your own.
